Electricity Southland Limited contracts PowerNet Limited to manage its Lakeland Network assets at Frankton and Wanaka in Central Otago.

The Lakeland Network assets comprise approximately 62 km of cables and 50 distribution transformers with a distribution capacity of 19.1MVA. There are just over 877 customers connected to the network, but this number is growing all the time as Electricity Southland reticulates new subdivisions and commercial developments, including Shotover Country, Lakes Edge, Remarkables Park, Shotover Park, Bridesdale Farm, Hanley’s Farm and Northlake in Wanaka.
