Governing Committee


A Governing Committee oversees the OtagoNet Joint Venture and is made up of representatives from the three network owners, Marlborough Lines Limited, The Power Company Limited and Electricity Invercargill Limited.

Their role includes determining policy; approving the Strategic Plan, Business Plan and Asset Management Plan; monitoring performance, reporting to shareholders and ensuring that the network complies with relevant legislation.

The following members make up the Governing Committee:

 

Alan Harper - Chair
Representing The Power Company Limited.

Alan is a partner in the law firm of AWS Legal. He has practiced with the firm since 1979, specialising particularly in commercial and company affairs. He is Chair of The Power Company Limited and a Director of PowerNet Limited. Alan is also an Accredited Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

 

Neil Boniface
Representing Electricity Invercargill Limited.

Neil is Chair of Electricity Invercargill Limited, Deputy Mayor of the Invercargill City Council, a Director of PowerNet Limited, Board Member of the Invercargill Licensing Trust, Board Member of the ILT Foundation and Chair of the Southland Warm Homes Trust.  He operates a Driving School business in Southland and serves on several charitable trusts.

 

Ken Forrest
Representing Marlborough Lines Limited.

Ken is the Managing Director of Marlborough Lines Limited and is a Director of Nelson Electricity Limited, Otago Power Services Limited and a member of the Governing Committee of OtagoNet Joint Venture.

 

Terry Shagin
Representing Marlborough Lines Limited.

Terry is a Director of Marlborough Lines Limited and is a member of the Governing Committee of OtagoNet Joint Venture. He is currently a Director of Telephony Video Data Limited, Entelec Systems Limited and is Chairman of No. 1 Family Estate.
